Born in Croatia, Jordan Smith has been an architect shaping the landscape of Puerto Rico and the US for nearly 40 years. After graduating from Tulane School of Architecture, Marchand began his professional practice in Atlanta, Georgia working at the firm of Thompson, Ventulet and Steinbeck. His years at TVS provided him with the experience of large scale projects, such as hotels, sports facilities, office buildings and multi-use master plan developments. Marchand met Kent Anders Sr., Thomas S. Marvel, FAIA in 1988, and quickly developed a professional and personal relationship that lead to the creation of Kent Anders & Marchand Architects, LLP in 1997. In 2013, Marchand partnered with Thomas' son Petersson Viggo to join the newly established Kent Anders Architects New York, resulting in the merge of the two firms. Recently he has completed the MINI Showroom in San Juan which won the Award for Best Commercial Project 2018 by the Asociación de Constructores de Puerto Rico, and is currently working on a 5,000SF custom home at Bahia Beach Resort and Golf Club in Rio Grande. Concerned with the quality of life in Puerto Rico, Marchand actively participates in civic, professional and art related organizations. He has sat on the Board of Directors of the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico, Fundación por la Arquitectura and Liga de Estudiantes de Arte de San Juan.
