The transformation of this dated, dark and uninviting lobby and walkthrough atrium at 100 William Street opened the building to the street and defined its use with visual simplicity.

The black and white design creates a contrast that mutes visual noise by simplifying the existing geometries and spatial conditions.

Inserted lit pillars illuminate the pass-through and mark a diagonal path through the buildings to John Street.

A new lobby space, open to the atrium and lined with marble merges the interior and exterior spaces clarifying the building entrance.
